Department of Education

The mission of the Department of Education is to "promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access (www.ed.gov)."  The Department of Education achieves this by collecting and researching data on schools in America, bringing national attention to important educational issues, and allowing for equal access to education (through no discrimination policies).
