Department of Energy

The United States department of energy is a department at the cabinet level, which is responsible for energy policy and nuclear safety. The department has many responsibilities. It is responsible for conserving and producing energy and energy related research, and depositing radioactive waste. Not only is it responsible for energy related issues but nuclear issues as well. The nation's nuclear weapon programs, and productions, and nuclear weapons and reconstruction programs for the United States Navy are all under this department as well. This department has more sponsors, and applied sciences then any other United States federal agency, but a majority of the funding comes from United States Department of Energy National Laboratories. The head of this department is the Secretary of Energy.
